An Epic rise to glory in beer.

Epic has become the rising super-star in Utah craft brew industry. Taking on a business model to produce a very low volume and huge variety of high point beers in small batches, they are the craftiest of the craft brewers in Utah and they have realized astounding success.

Head brewer Kevin Crompton, with Owners Peter Erickson and David Cole.

It started when Peter Erickson  and David Cole sold their brine shrimp feed  business to enter into the beer business.

They conducted a nation wide search for the brewer who could accomplish their ambitious plans to introduce over 20 varieties of beer within their first six months of operation. They found Kevin Crompton,

who had worked in various Utah breweries for the past 10 years. “He had everything we were looking for, and that he came from Utah and already lived here was a nice bonus,” says Cole. Crompton says he regularly works 14-18 hour days, but the hard work has paid off in the numerous awards Epic has already received. Epic has just completed expansion of their facility to include an additional 2,800 square feet of space.

The oak barrel conditioned beers have done extremely well and now they are on the look out for more barrels, “You really have to know the right people to get barrels right now,” says Cole. Luckily he has the connections to meet the demand. Epic has already won a gold medal for their Brainless Belgian Ale and ratebeer.com just awarded them the 3rd place for top 100 new breweries in the world. Epic is now distributing to Idaho and Wyoming.
