Why Eat Raw?

Restore balance and harmony to your body and your world by embracing raw, organic foods
by Omar Bou-Ismail
We live in a very industrialized world today. We have cars, houses, video games, TVs, cell phones, computers, packaged processed food, microwave ovens, genetically modified produce, personal care products and a lot more. So in order to get a glimpse of what it is like to be human again, we have to be able to take a look at nature as though we were children again--and also learn about the way food is really made, by nature.
restaurant that only serves only raw organic food -- most of which is locally grown.
Understanding the relationship that plants have with the soil, and with the cosmos (sun/moon) helps to encourage proper, healthy growth. Then we need to take a look at the relationship between animals and plants, and the relationship between humans, animals and plants. We all work together to orchestrate the living beauty of our planet earth. Food, nowadays, is grown in environments that are rather harsh for the soil, where commercial crops are filled with chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, larvicides, and insecticides. These are heavy chemical compounds that are transported through ground water into rivers and streams and then into the ocean, destroying a lot of the harmony of tiny organisms that help support the bigger picture of our environment.
Many of our world's coral reefs, for example, are being killed by a type of algae that blocks sunlight to the coral reefs. According to the scientific journal, Ecology Letters, researchers estimate that over 50 percent of our world's coral reefs have been destroyed already. Coral reefs are essential for the biodiversity of marine life in our ocean. They act like lungs to the ocean, just like trees act as lungs to air, where they cleanse the ocean/air from impurities and support life such as insects/animals/fish.
Eating raw, organic food is a way to eat living organic matter that has all the essential minerals, vitamins, and life force energy of the living earth to support our living body -- and it is the closest to nature that we can get. Since a lot of the food we eat is highly processed, we get very little vitamins and minerals from the food we eat, and the nutritional value is further compromised when we add preservatives along with the processed foods.
Processed foods strip the integrity of whole foods and don't benefit the body or fortify the body with minerals and vitamins.
When we choose to eat raw, organic foods we see the benefits in clearer skin, better digestive processes, and increased blood circulation. Greens are great blood builders, especially knowing that chlorophyll and our blood's hemoglobin are identical; the only difference is that the center molecule in chlorophyll is magnesium and the center molecule of our blood is iron (that's why our blood turns red in the presence of oxygen).
An organic salad a day is a simple way to incorporate more raw foods into your diet and is really beneficial. It feeds our body minerals and vitamins that help the intestinal flora by helping us eliminate things we don't need. Apples are also great for the stomach, and Flax seeds too! Flax seeds have your essential omega 3, 6, and 9. It's like eating fish, without the heavy metals that come in fish. Just by making a small adjustment in your daily eating, you can see significant changes in your body, and know that you are contributing to the natural rhythms and harmonies of our world as a whole.
