This holiday season don't forget your four-legged friends (or those whose "kids" have four legs)! Utah Stories has come up with some innovative gift ideas that will be sure to elicit lots of tail wagging, slobbery kisses and purrs. All the items on our list can be found either at local pet shops or online.

Homeopathic Travel Anxiety Relief: Pets get stressed during holiday travel, too! If your pet dreads the trip to Grandma's house, then a few drops of this homeopathic elixir may be just what you need. This HomeoPet brand treatment was specially designed to help ease traveling nerves for dogs and cats. The formula is a natural, gentle alternative to traditional medicines.

Design Your Own Dog Collar Kit: The search for the perfect collar for your pooch is over! This convenient kit includes everything you need to create a unique dog collar that will make your pup the envy of the dog park. This can also be a fun bonding activity for kids who are getting their first puppy from Santa. Collar is washable and waterproof, and the kit includes five paint colors and a booklet with lots of ideas in case you need some extra inspiration.

Home-baked Treats: Nobody does it better than Salt Lake's own Ma & Paws Bakery! Their fresh, wholesome treats belong in every canine's stocking this year. They will turn their famous Birthday Pizzas into Holiday Pizzas for your favorite dog, and Ma & Paws will even box & bow your item or individually bag your pup's favorite cookies for gifting to all those dog park pals.

Retractable Leash, Light & Radio: Just because the days have gotten shorter, it doesn't mean your early morning or evening walks have to stop. With this three-in-one companion, you can enjoy your walks in safety and still catch your favorite news show or music while you stroll. A 12-foot retractable leash features a built-in AM/FM radio, lock-in positioning, reflective patches to alert oncoming traffic and an ergonomic handle for comfort. Plus, a wide-beam flashlight lets you and your pooch see where you're headed.

The Other End of the Leash: Start seeing things from your dog's point of view. This book shares a revolutionary perspective on our relationship with dogs, focusing on our behavior in comparison with that of dogs. An applied animal behaviorist and dog trainer with more than 20 years experience, Dr. Patricia McConnell muses about why we behave the way we do around our dogs, how dogs might interpret our behavior, and how to interact with our dogs in ways that bring out the best in our four-legged friends.

Bark Vineyard Varietals: Why should we be the only ones enjoying a festive beverage this holiday season? A gourmet treat experience awaits the lucky kitty or pup who receives a bottle of this alcohol free au-jus which is poured over your pet's meal. All Bark Vineyard Varietals are made with human-grade ingredients, and include no animal by-products, artificial colors or flavors, chemical preservatives, refined sugars or artificial sweeteners.

Pearls Au Lait Milk Bath: The goodness of milk in a moisture-rich shampoo that will pamper your dog or cat and make them look (and smell) holiday-ready. These gentle, non-irritating milk baths will leave your pet's skin and coat clean, shiny and so soft you won't be able to stop petting them!

Safe Paw Ice Melter: Children, pets, surfaces and the environment can be adversely affected by the use of rock salt and salt-based ice melter products used by households in the winter. Safe Paw is the only 100 percent salt-free ice melter on the market and is 100 percent safe for children, pets, surfaces and the environment. This is a smart and safe way to keep your walks ice-free this winter.
