How to Survive The Great Depression

A little wisdom from our elders goes a long way. And guess what? Despite what the media says we aren't in a Great Depression
I'm tired of the doom and gloom news. I read a great column over the weekend in the Deseret News that put things in perspective.
Lee Benson interviewed an 89-year-old rest home patient who tells her story of how her family made it through the Great Depression thanks to the wisdom of her Grandma:

What if you don't have Grandparents? Do what Benson did and stop by your local old folks home and ask to get advice from a resident who knows how to farm and live without Costco and credit cards.
I especially enjoyed her comments at the end of the story regarding the press coverage of our current economic conditions:
It's all so negative," she says. "The commentators on the television, in the common vernacular, are pissing me off.
