DirtStar Mountain Boarding Video

DirtStar productions will be holding a free premier for their new movie about mountain boarding in Utah. Utah Stories interviewed local riders to capture some of the action.

DirtStar is a growing organization of Mountain Boarders looking to push their sport into the mainstream, while pushing physical boundaries to the limit. Strapped to what looks like a long board with heavy-terrain wheels, these half-athletes, half-daredevils carve down anything from mountain sides to urban asphalt.
"We're seeing a lot more riders and the products and boards are selling a lot more," said Casey Thomas, DirtStar rider and manager at Salty Peaks in Salt Lake City. Casey is one of the riders featured in the DirtStar movie which will premier at two locations on Saturday, June 9. For ages under 21, the movie will premier at the Salt Lake City Pubic Library at 2:30 pm and for ages 21 and older, another premier will be held at Pipper Down at 9 pm.
Movie director Van DeWitt says the movie is designed to "inform people more about mountain boarding. We want as many people to see it as possible, those in the industry and the general public," DeWitt said.
