Tea Party

Adam Gardiner is all set to host the Salt Lake City Tea Party Protest tomorrow, which will be one of numerous protests held across the country on the traditional day taxes are due. The event will seek to draw attention to what many conservatives fear is the growing power and size of the government and to express disapproval at the recent stimulus package legislation.

I spoke to Adam last night, and he was excited to report that the Salt Lake City event has already received national attention. In fact, he says he been contacted by producers from the Glenn Beck and Neal Cavuto programs and has scheduled multiple interviews on the day of the protest. I asked him what about Salt Lake City has attracted national attention. "I have to tell you, I have no idea," he says while laughing. He tells me that he signed up with Glenn Beck 9/12 project and received a call from a producer shortly afterwards who said he was "very impressed with all we were doing with our Tea Party." Despite the many protests across the country, only a handful are scheduled to have government speakers, Salt Lake City's event being one of them. Adam will host speeches given by Congressman Jason Chaffetz, Congressman Rob Bishop, and Attorney General Mark Shurtleff.

He tells me he is mindful of the irony of asking congressmen to speak at an anti-government rally, but he is quite confident in his decision. "I have gotten nothing but compliments about them," he says. "They have been given topics directly linked to their expertise and to their accomplishments in fighting the causes that we fight with them."

Jason Chaffetz, a freshman politician elected only months ago, has already earned himself a great deal of publicity in the short time he has held office. He made local headlines in January when he challenged Stephen Colbert to a leg wrestling match on the Colbert Report.

Call your Representative and ask them to support fair taxation and repeal the 16th amendment. As long as the 16th amendment is on the books, this type of taxation will continue.

I am truly embarrased to be represented by Mr. Obama.

The country spoke when they voted him in and now we will see the results of that thinking. My children and grandchildren will be paying the price for the extraordinary spending he has imposed upon us through his sycophants.

My family will not be able to experience the greatness of our country as it was in the 50's, 60's and even 70's, 80's and 90's. Our forefathers knew what men can do and we are allowing it to happen...the destruction of our society as we knew it.

If we are to live our lives within a budget then we should expect the same from our government. The people WE VOTED IN OFFICE should represent us and not their own interests! There is so much greed in Washington it is disgraceful!!

I am proud to be an American! When we allowed God to be taken down from our State and City buildings and out of our schools....it was the beginning of the end for the society as we knew it.

Just live by the Golden Rule and the 10 Commandments and keep my side of the street cleaned up, and hopefully we can come back from this "setback".
